The creator of Change Is Strange came up with the idea of creating personalized books for children after she made a personalized. book to help her daughter understand that mommy and daddy were going away for a vacation.
She based this on her understanding from educators who advise "that if a child is having trouble with a transition, take them on a personal journey through the steps of the transition and set them at ease by showing a safe conclusion."
The personalized book was read to the creator's daughter every day while they were gone. When the creator returned, she learned that her daughter had adjusted to her parents' absence.
Currently, parents can customize and personalize books on four different themes (or changes). The are:

My favorite aspects about the series are its creative illustrations and endearing character art.
